Dixie Restaurant in Petersburg

Really like Dixie Restaurant, really friendly staff and great food had a great and friendly waitress! Had great and awesome service as well, will be back soon!

If I lived closer to this place, I'd be a regular. Crispy sweet French toast, fresh eggs that weren't at all greasy (they were perfect, as if I had made them at home), and delicious corned beef hash (not too salty the way I love). Honestly, a surprisingly great breakfast. The staff was attentive, friendly, super nice. I actually recommend this place highly. If I'm ever in the area I'll be back

Liver and onions. Voted best hot dog at least once. Breakfast and lunch only, but serves dinner items. Excellent food

Usually when I order my eggs cooked a certain way at a restaurant it's a hit or miss adventure. Here my eggs were exactly as I ordered. The pancakes looked and tasted superb. All the staff performed as if they were the owners providing a great atmosphere for the guests. Even though it's a thirty minute drive for us, it was worth it.

100% recommended. Authentic local food made by locals and for locals. Collards were esp. amazing: Smoke, spice and vinegar. chicken fried chicken and chicken and dumplings also perfect. Personable and charming service. Only complaint was Mac N Cheese (Broken non creamy sauce; i still ate it).

Loved this place!! Me and the hubby visited and the food is great and they treat you like family. Will definitely visit again and highly recommend.

Had a hamburger. It was good and big. I could only eat haft. My neighbor had hot dog and navy beans. Very good. To full for desert but it looked good.

I have never had a bad experience at this restaurant. The food is great and service is outstanding. Depending on what time you visit, it’s a possible wait time. It’s worth the wait.

The Dixie is an honest-to-goodness diner experience hidden inside an early 20th century building facade. The food is really good and really inexpensive, but the service will blow you away. We sat on the outside patio (serenaded by a street musician, no less). The patio in many restaurants, as you well know, can be a black hope for service if a restaurant is busy. Not at the Dixie. Our drinks were refilled by (in order) the cook, the busboy, another waitress, and finally by or waitresses! Our drink glasses never got empty! Everyone was friendly and helpful, and the food can't be beat. So the next time you find yourself in Old Town Petersburg, treat yourself to a meal at the Dixie Restaurant!

The Food The Prices Everything about the quaint little diner is perfect! 2 people for lunch under $20. Staff was super friendly, and the food was very good. I had the Salmon Burger. My mom used to make these so I haven’t had a salmon cake in quite some time. It wasn’t quite moms but, I suppose none will. It was very good none the less. We will definitely be returning here.

Took my Queen here for lunch out of the blue. I found the restaurant on google search under ‘mom and pop diners’. The customer service was great and top notch. Three waitresses spoke to us and greeted us before we even got to our seats. Our cups stayed full, and they checked on us throughout the meal. The food was awesome, and very fulfilling. This will be our diner whenever were in town. The menu has so many great choices and options that we couldnt do it all on one visit. A true mom and pop southern style establishment. We will be back with a empty stomach 😁

I've been eating here recently and the food is good and the service is also good. They have a nice variety of menu items. I would recommend it to anyone.

Great customer service by ALL the staff! Had scrapple for the first time. Interesting taste. Thankful I was able to try something new. Seemed to be a little pricey for the amount of food and quality though.

Have to say we've eaten here before but a real bad experience this time. The owner was apparently in a bad mood. Waited 41 minutes for uncooked food. When we mentioned the wait he was unapologetic and nasty. I admit giving it back to him as he deserved it. Been a business owner all my life. I know you should start with I'm sorry when you get a complaint. Instead he was nasty. Will never be back.

The breakfast was absolutely delicious. The service was very fast and extremely friendly. Overall, everything here was phenomenal.

This place was amazing. We were taking my son to Fort Lee for his AIT training and decided to have breakfast there. Not only was the food delicious the atmosphere was so welcoming and best of all there wasn’t a single person having a conversation on a cell phone they were simply enjoying each other and the food

Down home cooking. BBQ sandwich tasty. Cute tucked in the middle of small southern town. Recommend.

Friendly, fast service and you cannot forget the amazing food! I got the salmon cake platter and boy was I glad. Then I figured why not add an egg or two. All this for under $10. The prices are reasonable and it's a nice little lovely Petersburg gem.!

Quaint Restaurant in Old Town. Breakfast was great. Side order of bacon was more than I expected. Service was Excellent.

This is a great breakfast diner! The coffee was fantastic and the food was fresh and well-made! This is a good place for a family meal. I enjoyed the mix of the regulars and the visitors who were warmly welcomed. I would highly recommend!

Love this little family run restaurant. It is small, and often crowded, but that goes to show how worth it they are. Love the little outdoor section for warm days. The food is great and the prices are extremely reasonable. Love the small town family atmosphere! God bless!

Old style diner. Gets crowded quickly on the weekend but my family likes it. The tidewater omelette is delicious but too much tomato for me but the staff is very friendly. Family environment

Awesome country breakfast! Had Sweet South omelet that was fabulous (pimento bacon with jalapeno pepper jelly on top with a corn cake with jalapenos. A must visit. Staff is super friendly and courteous...country charm for sure!

Wife and I stopped in on a Tuesday morning for some breakfast. The food was delicious. Menu was full of southern breakfast favorites and staples. I recommend the pancakes, they are fantastic. Also, the service was on point, our drinks never got to half-full before they got refilled. We will definitely return.

Ask for the bologna sandwich and add pimento cheese! Love this place!

This place is my favorite. I eat in plenty of restaurants but to this one I constantly return again and again. The crew is very welcoming and the cuisine they serve is so appetizing. I never miss an opportunity to have a decent dinner in this place. I highly recommend this place.
